So I'm going away on a trip, but I fear my roommates would go in my room. The last thing I want is to have other people going through my personal belongings. I'm thinking about changing the doorknob since it's pretty old, and a number of people could very well just have the key.

But is it easy to change a doorknob? So far it doesn't look that hard. Upon looking at it, it just has two screws on the back door and two more screws on the side. I've also seen the doorknobs in hardware stores that looks easy to install. Is that just about it? Or is there a bad side to it that I've yet to think of?

So I don't know how to change a doorknob. What does that have to do with my gender? Sorry but last I remember, I was asking a question, and if you don't have an answer regaurding my question, then do shut the hell up. I could give a crap what anyone's gender is, especially mine. If I don't know how to do something, ofcourse I'm going to ask.

Sexists, haha. Pathetic. Enough said.

Yes, easy. The new set will have very good directions you can follow. You will need a screw driver.

Easy as pie. Unscrew the two screws, pull the knobs out. Unscrew the screws on the tongue, and pull that out.

Put in the new tongue, and screw it on, put on one knob, get the other to go on the other side, and screw it together.

It can be a little tricky to get that second knob on, and hold them together, but nothing you can't handle.

The only tricky part is setting it up so the key and switch turn in the direction you'd expect them to. If you don't mind putting the key in upside down, or whatever, you're fine. If you're particular, a few tries at screwing the knobs together may be needed. Still nothing you can't handle, but a little time consuming.

sure, tis easy but would suggest following directions from
the start -- I usually don't and some of my minor projects
can turn out to be pretty major
