Sorry, the yeast thing is an old wives tale.

In general, the system works with the bacteria present in waste, adding more will not help your system work faster. Keep in mind that pumping out your system every five years is recommended.

Rid X can work for small problems, but really if you are concerned about your system you should just avoid putting things in your septic system that will harm it.

Baking yeast is an inexpensive alternative. Just flush it down the toilet or down any drain.

I've always heard to use the regular baking yeast as well.
