Whatever they are, fruit flies, gnats. The bananas turn brown fast in the fridge. Is there any natural way to keep them away?

They started out as caterpillars, so we put tape around the trees...that seemed to do the trick. But it's now a month or two later and they're literally swarming in my neighborhood. I don't live in the suburbs, I live in an area surrounded by wooded areas, so at least I saved my trees with the tape. But what can I do to kill them? They look like they're trying to find a place to nest in shaded areas on trash cans, fallen logs, etc. If this keeps up for several consecutive years, I believe that they can destroy the trees around my house. My neighbor bought a bug lamp, but the gypsy moths never really come out at night so it doesn't do much. I'm really out of ideas.

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator about 2 months ago, and I'm beginning to think I got a lemon. It is once again (this is the fourth time) not making ice. A few days ago, it stopped dispensing water (out of the blue, of course) for almost a day. I have no water pressure problems, no toddlers to mess with it and screw it up, and it starts working again on its own each time these things happen. The random no ice thing is a big problem, as it's a side-by-side, and the freezer space is limited enough without having ice cube trays cluttering it up. Anyway, my question is, has anyone else had problems that magically go away on their own and for which there are no apparent reasons with a Whirlpool refrigerator? Is there anything I should know before I call their customer service on Monday - such as, any excuses they might use to make it appear that their product isn't the problem? Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. My sincere thanks, in advance, to anyone who answers :)

Thank you everyone for telling me about WD40 removing the very sticky residue left when you remove that tape. It was even all over my hands and it took it off too. Any other uses for WD40?

Will i notice much difference when using this type of bottled gas, compared to using the 'recommended' propane gas. I don't intend using it in very low temparatures like 0 degrees. the patio heater is fitted with the right connection for a buthane cylinder.

i like to sit in my back yard under an apple tree. for a few days now, there has been a squirrel that sits in the tree above me and stares me down. he eats apples and throws them at me. when he just stares at me, it freaks me out! squirrels have been known to randomly attack people. he also makes that noise squirrels make. it's pretty funny, but, seriously, i don't even like to sit out there anymore, and it sucks.

Last week we had an ant problem in my kitchen, in the cabinet where I store my pots and pans. We laid some traps down and they were gone a few days later. There is no food source for them and they are only on the side of the kitchen where the pots and pans are. A few days after they were gone some came back. There is no trail, and there are only a few at a time on the countertops, in the same area. I laid more traps around the kitchen but they are not working?!?!
They seem to appear on the countertop out of nowhere. We have a tile countertop, so my first question is this. Can they be living underneath the tile? If so how can we get rid of them? Also, any good tips other than using the traps. We also have the house sprayed every month for bugs, so I just can't figure this out and we can't call the pest control guy until Monday. Thanks!

Our neighbors yard is not in the best condition. They always let the grass get long and their kids leave their toys all over the place. They even throw them over onto our side of the fence along with pop cans and other trash. Their kids are probably all under 6 and they always let their trash pile so high in their cans it's gross to look at. These are all duplex rentals and we have different landlords. I'm pretty sure that the renters are supposed to mow their own lawn because their attatched neighbor's lawn is perfect looking. Is there anything that can be done to get them to take care of their yard better. It's a very sore eye sight. And what do I do about all of their stuff getting thrown onto our property? Wait for them to come get it or throw it back on their side? The people on the other side of us have young kids too but their yard is perfect and clean and I just don't understand how some people let their yard's get so discusting?!?

I work for a rather old fast food restaurant, we're getting another store built sometime in the next year or so. My question is this, mopping the floor leaves a greyish/blue off color in the grout- how can I prevent this? The tiles are dark brown, the grout is black and the floor isn't in a horrid condition. We use a green degreaser- common in restaurants in the mop water, deck scrub regularly and I've tried using different amounts of degreaser. The floors look aweful lately though. Besides the grout being that grey color, food gets stuck in the grout more often, too. I'm very particular to the floors in the restaurants I work in and this really does bother me. Thank you!

I am aware that you should make sure you have them after 7 at night. But my neighbour said we live in a 'smoke-free zone' and she put my fire out yesterday evening with her hosepipe!
I thought 'smoke-free zone' only applied to cigarette smoking. I live in London zone 3 (therefore the outskirts of the city)..?
