Our neighbors yard is not in the best condition. They always let the grass get long and their kids leave their toys all over the place. They even throw them over onto our side of the fence along with pop cans and other trash. Their kids are probably all under 6 and they always let their trash pile so high in their cans it's gross to look at. These are all duplex rentals and we have different landlords. I'm pretty sure that the renters are supposed to mow their own lawn because their attatched neighbor's lawn is perfect looking. Is there anything that can be done to get them to take care of their yard better. It's a very sore eye sight. And what do I do about all of their stuff getting thrown onto our property? Wait for them to come get it or throw it back on their side? The people on the other side of us have young kids too but their yard is perfect and clean and I just don't understand how some people let their yard's get so discusting?!?

If I have to make a phone call can I stay anonymous? I don't want our neighbors hating us!

how is that being stuck up? letting your lawn go two weeks without mowing it is a little ridiculous! we have friends and family come over for bbq's and it's not enjoyable to eat food while seeing a bunch of trash all over!

My neighbors suck too, and I also have a problem with my yard being used as a landfill. I come home from work in the morning and I'll find soda cans, beer bottles, candy/food wrappers, toys...I even found a cell phone when I was mowing yesterday! I'm know our neighbors are responsable, but I don't know which ones. They all kind of drive me crazy.
Now, normally I don't approve of people reporting their neighbors for their lack of lawn care, you never know their circumstances, but you seem to have a valid reason to report them for trashing your yard. Make a call to the police if you have trouble with them trashing your yard. You can also make that anonymous call to the city or the police about the grass and they'll take care of it for you.
I hope that helps.

I had the same problem..I would throw stuff away that I found in my yard..call ur landlord and have him call the landlord of the property that ur having trouble with..chances r they will drop by and have a talk with them..and if that does not help u might have to move..also take pictures of the problems to show the owners and document everything (all problems)..good luck

I would definitely call the landlord. It is bringing down their property value and imagine what the inside of their place looks like. Most cities have ordinances about mowing lawns and property upkeep so you can call the city clerks office and tell them and they will inspect the property or send a letter to the renters that there have been complaints about the property-they will not put your name in that letter.

I'd report it immediately! Their trash will invite pests and vermine into your duplex. Call your county commissioners and let them know the owner of the duplex is a slumlord. You can do it without giving your name. Talk to your landlord because I would think having a garbage dump nextdoor to him, he might want to do something about it, being he's the property owner. Hope this helps with your problem!

Throw the trash back in their yard , but keep the toys and refuse to return them . Call the cops and complain . Get all the neighbours you can to phone and complain . Keep complaining and calling the cops till the trashy neighbours decide to move .

Most cities/ towns have a blight ordinance. Call your township or city hall and ask about it. Tell them your problem and that their property is an eyesore and unsafe and they may be able to help you out. You can ask to stay anonymus if you'd like. Good luck! :)

Maybe see if you can go and see their landlord(quietly) it might help without upsetting the neighbours. Unfortunately some renters think they dont have to care about the property because its not theirs. good luck.

Yes, I would stay anonymous. I would either go to your landlord or straight to the neighbors.

Most cities have ordinances that address these matters.
You have to report them however.
You have 2 choices. Stand up to the neighbors by reporting them and / or confronting them or living with the mess.
The choice is yours.

Find out who their landlord is (try your local county auditor webpage) and it will usually give a name and address. Write anonymously to the landlord.
If you have a number to call, call from a payphone and don't give your address...just tell them that you live nearby and have noticed the eyesore.
