I have the porcelain cast and I like it very well. Cleans easily with the brass brush and seems to hold an even heat. It also maintains the heat for a while after turning off the burners so you can leave food on it as a warmer to keep foods hot longer.

Each type has its strengths. Stainless is very long lasting, easy to clean and has a certain cleanliness to its appealing appearance, but it is expensive. Cast has a mass that spreads and retains heat, it less expensive and cleans okay but not as easily as stainless and will not last as long at looking good.
