We have a lovely large garden in France (where we live) and once a year family come to visit, but our poor niece suffers terribly from hay fever, so cannot get much pleasure from being here!

My husband is keen to create a "friendly" garden especially for her, but cannot find the information anywhere, but knows there are some.

Can anyone help?

Ok, so I have a nice sized empty moving van.
A flourist wants to pay delivery people to deliver flowers during the holidays. What's a good price to charge? Consider it's the holidays and gas prices are high. Do I charge per run? Per flower piece? What's the scoop?

I recently purchased a house where the kitchen was remodeled a couple of years ago and the previous owners installed built-in double ovens. The ovens looked a little narrow from the beginning, and after we moved in I discovered that my standard baking sheets fit, but my larger pans don’t. My stove at my old apt was on the small side, but my 15” wide bar pan still managed to squeeze in; no such luck with the “baby” ovens.

I can’t think of anyone I know that has built-in ovens so…Is this normal or did the previous owners cheap out?

I’m not complaining; I’m just curious.

Any idea where, and if it's even possible, to find compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) for household use that are not made in China?

I live in a very old building (built in 1940's), and I imagine the windows are very old too. If I sit in the window in the sun, am I being exposed to UV rays?

a couple weeks ago our kitchen was overrun with ants. we tried EVERYTHING, cinnamon, coffee, the little ant iggloo things, listerene, dishsoap, vinegar, corstarch, we dusted the yard several freakin times. finally putting bay leaves everywhere seemed to put a halt to their exploring. Now.... as of yesterday they are back and in bigger quantities.the kitchen is spotless! i tried new bayleaves, vinegar.... i tried drownding them with maple syrup in a bowl because i read it somewhere online. didnt help. thats gone now but the more i wipe away, the more show up. now they feel it neccisary to bite me when i wipe them up. my hands are covered in bites and money is a little tight right now so we cant afford a expterminator at the moment. what else could i do?? what else is there to try!!!?

We have purchased a pillow top mattress from Macy's in July and paid $2000.00 for it. When buying it, I have asked the sales accosiate about the humps. He asured us that mattress has 10 years warranty and we won't have any problems with the hums. Unfortunately, after 2 months of use, a huge hump created right in the middle (please note, me and my husband are not overweight). So, Macy's sent an inspector to our house, he took a picture and soon we have received a letter from Macy's saying that this hump is normal and our mattress is not eligibal for an exchange or return and they advised us to take a better care of our mattress....
We would like to fight them and return the mattress but do not know what steps to take. Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Just wondering. I guess most people would say they sing better when in the bathroom and whatnot.

My father has an annoying tree in the front yard and wants it to "go away." The city will remove it after it is dead. He hears that putting copper nails and/or copper wire in the tree will do the job. How many nails would be needed? The tree is 2 ft in diameter and 40 feet tall. Don't worry, there are plenty of other trees around. This one is growing too close to his house.

Yesterday when I came home (about 5:30 p.m.) there was a bug about 1/2 inch long laying on it's back on my kitchen floor. It was brown and had antennas but other than that I didn't look close other than to spray it. I am ULTRA paranoid about roaches, I've never had them, but now I'm freaked out. I've lived in my house for 6 months now and have never seen any evidence of roaches (and I look!) So do you think it was to early for it to be out? Also, my dad said that roaches have no problem flipping themselves over, this bug did. Also, I just brought in my Christmas tree- a live one I cut down. Do you think it could have been some random bug brought in with that! I know when you see one there are a hundred more, but wouldn't know? I get up in the night to get a drink or whatever every so often and have NEVER seen anything until that one that may or may not be a roach. What do you think? What should I do? (Sorry for rambling, I'm freaking out!) Thanks!

There's static EVERYWHERE, I can't wear fleece or use fleece blankets, I can't wear sweaters! I wake up in the morning and my eyes, nose and mouth are so dried out. We keep our heat at 70, but it only seems to really work right by the place where it is, not through the vents - we can't turn it down or we'll freeze. I'm tired of shocking myself everytime I turn around. Can anyone help? I can't afford a humidifier and I'm not even sure that would work. We live in a 4 room apartment (kitchen, diningroom/livingroom, bedroom, bathroom) on the first floor, partially below ground. Thanks!
