I haven't had a Sam's Club membership in a long time... Sometimes if you let your membership lapse for about 6-9 months they will give you a renewal special 16 months for $40 or whatever.. We do this with our Bj's membership.... Which I like better than Sams. They accept manufacturer's coupons and print there own member coupons.. So, we save quite a bit of money on things we buy all the time... We also "split" our membership with a friend.. So, we pay half the regular membership and just have the friend use the "spouse" card... This yr. we lucked out and we have a friend that works for Bj's and we're getting a free 16 month membership.... So, it helps to know people.... Good luck

People complain about the membership fee, but just remember if we didn't charge the membership fee we would just have to raise all the prices of our products (some by a LOT) and then people would have something else to complain about. So I think you should.

why do you pay a store to be able to shop in it? i can never understand this concept! i spend enough money in store they should let me shop there without charging a membership fee! i refuse to go there! i went once with father-in-law and i didn't think the prices were better then a regular wal-mart! even if i bought lots of one item, i still think i would save more else where! think about it! why pay them to shop there?

its a good store if you go there a lot but if not, I wouldnt do it, Waste of $40

Like momma said below, they are only slightly cheaper but charging you that $40 makes up for most of it though. so really the only advantage is buying in bulk.

If it's an option for you, join a Costco instead - a slightly better shopping experience with better products from my perspective.
