Sometimes landlords give you a list of what should be cleaned before you move out. I had to clean tracks in a window that I believe was NEVER cleaned for years. I was really annoyed since it was almost impossible to open the huge windows. We received all our money back for our apartment. We cleaned the carpet , fixed any paint chips with touch up paint, cleaned windows inside and out, tracks, doors, everything!!! Lucky for us the apartment was small. It depends on the place you rent.

The best you can, and then some.
It needs to be as close to how it looked when you first moved in.
Wipe down walls, clean the bathroom, clean the windows and window sills and window tracking (where the window slides). Completely clean out the refrigerator/freezer, oven, stove top (including burner bowls) and pull the oven out clean behind it and the refrigerator. Get rid of any cobwebs, wipe down the tops of the door frames, light switch covers, door knobs. Vacuum around the smoke detectors on the ceiling, the baseboard heaters, and all carpeting. Also, please vacuum by the ceiling vent in the bathroom. Clean the mirros,
That should about do it.
Take care.

It depends on the landlord.... However, if you have the time give the apt. a good once over. Open all the drawers/cabinets and wipe them out... Closets and so on... Make sure the kitchen appliances are clean as well as the fridge. If you still aren't sure give your landlord a call and ask what needs to be done...
