I got a new couch, and I'm selling the old one. It's a dark green color, and it has a leaf design on the pillows.

I know that they rarely sting, buy my concern is more for my new deck frame and garage that they are boring holes into. How can I get to the nest if they bore into the wood then do a 90 degree turn and tunnel 4 ft. into the wood. How will this affect the strength of the wood and would it have to be replaced.

Our neighbour has 3 cats and they all use our garden as a toilet. We've tried everything to get rid of them (orange peel, various herbs, sonic deterent, chemical deterrent) and nothing works. During my pregnancy I couldn't use the garden because of it. My son is now 7 months old and crawling, but we cant' let him use the garden for fear of coming across cat wee and poo. I don't know what to do - we're going to speak to them but our other neighbour spoke to them and they said that there was nothing they could do. Any advice please?!

The leaves are getting very limp. The plants are not overwatered,and are in selfwatering pots. I have even re-potted them with no success. Only some of the plants are affected.

This is a part of a plant my neighbor gave to me last year. I have managed to keep it alive, though it has not gotten much bigger since she gave it to me. I thought it might be a hosta but when I looked it up online, it does not look like what I saw. Then my grandmother told me she thought it was a dumb cane. I looked it up and still don;t think it looks like what I have. Can anyone look at this picture and please tell me what it is, and what I can do to make it grow bigger, or fuller or something. I have tried Miracle grow, different fertilizer, but what you see is what you get. Click here to see the plant;

My porch has a 3x20 raised platform to plant plants in. It was filled with sand. I bought about 15 bags of top soil, which ended up making about 4-5 inches of top soil on top of the sand. I planted some tomatoes, flowers, and vines in the top soil. My concern though, is will my plants die when their roots reach the sand??? Thank you for your help!

I have a queen size mattress on my chestbed. I don't have a boxspring as I figure the firm top surface of the chestbed makes this obsolete...and, that it would probably cause me to use a ladder to climb into bed each night. My question is this: I was told I need a "special" mattress designed to sit on top of a wooden chestbed. I've searched around and have never heard of such a thing -- has anyone out there?

I live in the south, on a river, and have more snakes in my yard than all of my neighbors. They climb onto my deck, hang out on the porch, etc. Most are non-poisonous, but I am still very afraid of them. I have heard of using campher, moth balls, lime. Please help!

What would you put on the trunk of the tree to discourage them from pecking? I have already lost one tree due to this (and afids) and need to find a solution.
