claim dropped and removed from record?

If I file a claim for water damage due to sump pump failure which turns out not to be covered on my home policy can I get the claim dropped and removed from record?

Alas, once you file the claim it is too late. Check your policy and look at your deductible. If you have a rider on your policy that covers broken pipes and water backup you will be covered. Why don't you call your agent and ask what is covered before you file a claim ?

Just tell your agent to withdraw the claim and do not accept any money from them.
