In the last couple of weeks 2 swallow birds have made a nest on my front porch, I dont want to kill them, because well... I love birds, but these two swoop down at me everytime I go outside. I am really short so I cant see if they have any eggs in their nest, so I am afraid to move it. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem? I mean man! These two birds are really really territorial! I have a 3 year old and would like to be able to take him outside again!

I used to light 3-4 vanilla-scented candles but they don't last long. Is there a better alternative?

We would like to force the squirrels to leave and then seal the areas they have used to enter. Is there a noxious smell, chemical or whatever that will make them leave before we seal the space?

I live in Oklahoma, and it gets up in the 100's in the summer. The winters are really sparadic and are sometimes in the 20's, but rarely colder than that. What would be the best type of fruit tree for me to plant? I want something that is going to grow well here, as well as yield lots of fruit. Please help.

I've heard of a product called Fridge It to get rid of really bad odors. Anyone else tried it? Someone recommended that this natural carbon odor absorber called Fridge It odor absorbers is supposed to be amazing. Natural and no fragrances which is what I like. Anyone know where I can buy this product and does it really work that well? I'm not interested in baking soda - it doesn't work.

Everyday (!) for last two month I accidentally spilled water in my bathroom that is upstairs. The bathroom is carpeted and there is a huge puddle of water in it. Dowstairs, at the exact position under the bathroom there is a mould on the ceiling. I wonder whether 2 months are enough for the mould to create. If it is enough, then that's my fault.

My fiance and I just purchased our first home in Bergen County, NJ. (YAY!!!!) We are in desperate need of furniture - diningroom table, cocktail/end tables, bedroom chest/bedside tables, computer desk & chair, etc.

We also have a wedding coming up in a year and need to buy affordable, but decent furniture. Can anyone provide some stores/online stores??

Thanks!

Last night, I saw a roach on my back steps. I stepped over it a few times going in and out of the house, but it didn't move until I relentlessly sprayed it with all-purpose bug spray. Then I sprayed all around the concrete steps. This morning, I found what might be another roach dead near where I sprayed the most. The first roach was large, a bit over an inch. It was a reddish brown color. The second, is a little smaller and almost black. It was also less "boxy" looking.

Our back concrete steps are in bad condition. They're pulling away from the house and have some cracks, crevices, and holes near the base. Last night was hot and muggy and working up to a big storm. We were running the air conditioner. I'm in the south suburbs of Chicago. I'm not sure what other info might help.

What do I do now? Do I need an exterminator, or can I handle this problem? Do I even have a real problem? Help!

What are the best not-so-obvious ways of making your home smell nice? Candles, air freshner, etc?

Thanks!

My room mate is constantly "lecturing" me about having my bedroom window open while she has the air conditioner on at its lowest setting and how it is driving the electric bill up. I have closed and blocked off all of the vents to my room as well as the door. I did this back at home, my parents never had a problem with it (that I am aware of).

We recently bought a house. The agent said it was built in 1982. I think they check from the date of the bathroom toilet. (a little trick they use)When the inspector came, he clearly said the house was built in 1975! The brady bunch wall panelling would have been a clue. haha. The hallway bathroom toilet said 1975 as well. Wouldnt a real estate agent know this? I think he was going by when the house was re-done i guess, not by the year it was actually built. Kind of makes me wonder....

I live in a brand new house in the city, and every morning the floor has about twenty of these little black shiny caterpillars on the tile and carpet. Spraying around the doors and windows only keeps them away for one day. Anyone else experiencing this? What should I do to stop it?
