Get a live trap, its a cage with a drop down door bait it and you will get your prey alive and unharmed then just let them go in the wild, any local pest control business should be able to help you

2 options, try a product called Liquid Fence that you can get at many garden or farm supply stores and hardware stores. It has fox urine and a lot of other things that critters don't like. It really smells bad for a couple of hours then only they can smell it. I use it in my garden and it keeps deer, squirrels and rabbits out.
Or
Try Moth balls/cakes, I used to work in the Wisconsin north woods and we would winterize cabins and lodges. We would spread moth balls in the cabins before locking them up for the winter and a moth cake in each room for longer lasting effect. This works good in enclosed areas.

you will have to get on a ladder and inspect the soffet all around the house looking for a small hole that a squirell could get in, next, if you can get into the attic you will be able to just about pinpoint where they are coming in at .You need to cover any opening that you find with screen or wood, depending upon its location.Good Luck!
