About three weeks ago my rose bush (it came with my home when I purchased it two years ago, so it is at least 3 years old; it is about 2 ft in diameter and 3 ft high) budded and bloomed beautifully. Almost immediately, the front half's leaves turned yellow with brown spots, the blooms fell off, the leaves then fell, and the branches turned dark brown. The back half seemed unphased, but this week, it too started the same disintergration. No other plants around the rose seem impacted and I want to keep it that way. I water regularly and it gets great sun. This did not happen last year and nothing has changed regarding light or soil. I hope answers include remedies--that is I hope there is a remedy (the more natural the better) and that you kind folk inform me of what to do to save this great plant. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The past few days I've noticed a few flying bug things, and it's getting worse. In my kitchen and bathroom. They are the size of a flea, but they are light brown and fly around.

I have dogs and a cat. I never leave food out. I also never leave doors or windows open.

What is this? Would defogger work or would it just temporarily fix the problem?

I have a ice maker in my fridge, but once I have enough ice I turn it off, sometimes for several weeks. After I turn it on agian, the inside of the ice is sorta yellowish and the ice smells like onions. Why is it like this?
The water in my area is very soft so there are very little dissolved minerals in it. Plus my fridge auto defrosts it self so there is no ice on the wall, and my fridge is very clean.

I bought some bed sheets for a deep mattress I have but they don't fit because i forgot to factor in the featherbed i have over my pillowtop, I cannot exchange them for the next bed size up because I have a king already. The company does not do returns for this reason, and the whole bedset was $3000...is there anyone who knows about sewing who could tell me if it is possible to take these to someone and have a few inches of fabric added to the bottom so these fit over my mattress correctly? They are made of Modal and Silk....is this possible to have done or will there be too much stress on the seams?

OK, it's a beautiful day. We live in the city but have an oasis for a backyard. There is a major mill renovation down the street from us and now there is an overpopulation of rats in our neighborhood. In my opinion, one rat is an overpopulation but I digress...I called the city to put bait traps out however for today, I'd really like to take my daughter outside and cannot becuase this freaking rat is back there by my fence and will not leave. Does anyone know how to scare the tar out of a rat with household products? BTW yes, we keep our yard clean. the rats are unavoidable in the city, especially with major construction. we've done really well making our yard not rat friendly but our backyard neighbors have a dog and don't clean up it's poop. the city won't do a thing so i'm just looking for an immediate fix. my poor daughter is stuck inside on this beautiful day and that's not cool...

I'd like to use the water to water my plants, but my aquarium water is pretty messy right now. Will it smell? Would it help fertilize the plants? Seriously.

carpet cleaning question? need help fast... please?
I have a mom and pop rug cleaning service on their way over. What do I need to know? Berber rugs... they said it would take 8 hours to dry. They guaranteed that the pet stains would come out, no guarantee on the smell. Any ideas?

Thanks for your time in answering this question!

My husband is driving me crazy by always getting mad at me if I leave a standing fan in our bedroom plugged it. I always turn it off, but usually don't take the time to bend over and unplug it. He says that we are wasting energy by leaving it plugged in. Is this true? I really can't imagine how this fan would dramatically affect our electric bill. We have lots of other appliances around the house (lamps, computers, etc.) that we do not unplug after each use. What's the deal?

I just purchased a house. The house has auto sprinklers. Some of the sprinklers are ineffective and unnecessary. Can I just cap the sprinklers under the ground? I live in Utah where the ground often freezes during the winter. Will capping the sprinkler have an effect on draining the sprinklers and thus freezing problems during the winter?
