Who sells and what brand has the deepest above ground pool. What brands do you consider to be the best, or should I basically say, how do you like yours?

52 inches will be the greatest wall height you can get, but the actual depth of the pool can be anything you want. It's not uncommon to do what's called dishing. Simply put, if this is a round pool, you can dish out the centre of the pool an extra foot or so for most stock liners to fit. If you want to go deeper, you can dish deeper, but you may have to order a custom liner for the pool. If this is a rectangle (Kayak type) or an oval, you can make a deep end for the pool. Typically, this way of going requires someone proficient with trowling damp sand on a angled surface or the more expensive option of creating a basic sub shell using a portland/sand mix. The liner again, would be a custom one.
It's not difficult or overly expensive to do any of the options I've laid out here. All of them, I've done at one time or another.

Deep Above Ground Pools

Most above ground swimming pools are 3-5 foot deep. The reason for this is, because when you are climbing the ladder/steps to get into the pool, 6-7 feet is a good ways up in the air. Especially for young children and elderly. Unless of course, you build a nice deck around the pool, then you can have regular steps into the pool, and height is not an issue. Still though, most above ground pools are at most 5 feet deep. Another factor in 5 ft and under pools are because of the water pressure to the walls since it is above ground.

I reccommend you to check into the fiber glass above grounds. They are very sturdy. Very durable. Very Reliable. Easier to clean. No liner to replace or scrub. Cons: cost rises and is sometimes harder to find an installer. Definately check into it though.

I, personally, own an in-ground and LOVE IT. Unless an in-ground is not an option for you, I would advise anyone to check into it. However, it is more expensive, and also involves more upkeep. But definately worth it!

52 inch deep, 18 foot round.......would have loved an above ground lap pool......but let's get serious. Brand, I don't know. this is our second and I don't see any differences between this and the first other than we had this second one professionally installed. So the booboos we made with first....like not getting a post totally vertical and not getting smooth sand base on bottom....and not properly centering the lining were a nonissue.

This time all the plumbing goes through the wall, not over the top.......much neater appearance.

I highly recommend going with a bigger filter and pump than recommended......just the next size than what is recommended. Both filters have been sand and that's fine.

We have the auto clean stuff, but just more things to hook on. We can clean it quickly.

One thing we did on the second was to install steps instead of a ladder. Easier of older folks to use.

Would love a solar heating attachment, but not getting silly here. Would give us another 2 or 3 weeks on either end of season.

I've got a 52" deep by 27' around, it was the biggest round pool you could get 23 yrs ago, it's a johnny wiesmeller (guy who played Tarzan) and it's all original except the pump motor. It holds about 21,000 gals and I've had great luck with the D.E. filter, love it no problems at all. My liner is still in great shape and I bought the most expensive stairs they had at that time and their just like an in-ground pool stairs, wide and stainless steel rails. My kids loved and still do and now their kids love it , my grand kids. It's an extruded steel wall not a rolled and I paid a whopping $3000 back then I think it goes for around $7000 now, good luck
