The ants are coming from a hole in the skirting board so they're already in the house and cannot be tracked back to the outside world...they eat silicon...I think they're 'Super Ants', you know like 'Super Man'...'Super Ted'!

ANT BAIT

You'll find it effective, but be patient -- it may take a week to 10 days to be fully effective.

In the meantime kill ants in the house with Windex or another ammonia-based cleaner. Clean and kill, all in one motion.

Recipe:

1 part 20 Mule Team Borax or Boric acid
9 parts of a sweet sticky liquid like maple syrup, honey or Karo syrup

Mix the ingredients. Heating in a double boiler may speed the process. Take an empty margarine tub and poke 4 holes around the bottom edge (entry holes for ants to walk in).

Place a dollop the size of a quarter in the middle of the tub, then put the top back on. This mixture is not non-toxic, however it is less toxic, and that's the key to its success.

The ants carry it back to the nest where they feed it to the entire colony and wipe out the nest.

The most effective method of getting rid of ants involves no killing, and in fact, ends up helping the ants, which Buddha would approve of!

Find where the ants are coming from...trace them outside the house, until you can figure out where their trail is. Once you've done that, pour a couple of tablespoons of sugar in the middle of their trail. Adding a couple drops of water to get it partially dissolved is sometimes helpful, especially if it's in a spot where the wind might blow it away.

When I did this, I'd replace the sugar about every six months...The ants were never interested in anything inside my house, once they had that nice pile of good stuff to eat!

Please tell her, she can find a way to sweep them out first, find someone to place powder of ant-killer along the doorway to keep the ant away from her house. Or you may, without her acknowledgment of your action, kill them since you don't be bothered with Buddhism karma.

You can sprinkle baby powder around any areas they are coming in from outside i.e around windows, doors, ect. It works well to deter them.

Try putting fresh basil at the front door. They won't come in.
