In the home in which I live, the air conditioning has sortof randomly stopped working. I live in Arizona, so it's like... really hot. xD

Before I go and spend money to have it checked out, is there anything I can check myself to maybe get it working??

Half of the vents in the house are blowing air out, but not very cold, and not very much of it. The others only have like a slight draft coming out of them. I have the AC turned all the way down, and have tried different settings, without any change.

Any suggestions?

its because it heats food faster for example. heating a casserole, it takes 5 minutes on medium, 3 minutes on medium high and probably 1 minute for high. so is it safe to do it that way or will it brake it in the long term?

We recently bought this recliner from Haverty's
http://www.havertys.com/catalog/group.do?group=HVT8400-61
All the recliners except one in it go into a total 180 degree position. But one goes only 120 degrees. Is there a way to repair this??
We bought it from their outlet stores and hence I cannot complain. I did not notice this flaw when we picked it up, when we came home, we experienced this..Please help..

I cleaned the outside unit and turned power back on along with thermostat-unit runs fine including compresser. Black insulated line from outside to inside is very cold and icy and water is leaking on and into furnace. After doing some research, I figured that either there is a leak or my unit is low on freon because air will blow for several minutes out of registers but very, very low airflow. Repairman came out and recharged unit but said blower motor is not working correctly because of a faulty circuit board which will cost $500. I'm skeptical because I've heard of some techs being scammers. Is this a possible solution or do you think the blower motor just needs to be replaced?

I have one that has a light that comes on saying that its full - but it has no water in it. The owners manual does not have any tips on this problem. There are no local service centers for Maytag near me & we no longer have the receipt for it (its about 2 yrs old). No one will look at it with out a receipt of course.
Does anyone have any suggestions? We had some water in our basement from heavy rains in wisconsin & basement is very musty smelling & I would like to run the unit - but cant!

Thanks!

Made the discovery that my carpet under the window where AC is was wet this morning. Any thoughts on this? It has been fine all summer till now. Does not seem to have shifted in the window.

I put spaghetti down the drain last night....stupid move! Anyways, when I run the disposal, that side of the sink goes down but the other side fills up with nasty stuff AND then the disposal side fills up a little too. I am ignorant when it comes to plumbing stuff but want to know if I will be able to fix it. Thanks!

I am planning to insulate 3 flats. They currently have low ceilings, but I wish to restore them to original height (less about 1 foot for insulation). Total area of flats are about 700 square foot each. I have had quote for £ 5300 to remove old low ceilings, create new ceilings with Rockwool insulation and then the celings will be skimmed. Is it decent price?

I am curently doing my house up to sell. I have employed a local builder/handyman to do the work which should take 2-3 weeks in total. I have agreed to pay him a fixed amount for labour and all material costs (he provides receipts and I give him the money). Last FRiday I agreed to give him half his fee as he needed some cash and he had done nearly half the job (even though taken him nearly 3 weeks just to do half), he was going to phone me Monday about what to do next and another job I had for him at work. He didn;t phone.....I have tried to phone him over past 2 days but his mobile is switched off, I left voicemail and text him putting a delivery report on the text so I know when he has read it. I am now worried that he's decided not to finish the job and left me in a mess. He still has my door key and £100 for materials he was supposed to buy Monday. What can I do ? I only have a mobile and nothing in writing (ok, I am stupid)

I dread fall we have so many leaves, I moved here from south florida and the trees are small down there. We do not have to bag them just get them to the curb. Anything easy and cheap would sound good to me.

I fear there is something in it since my friends toilet did the same thing and we removed G.I. Joe and a Hot Wheels from it. So how do I get the unwanted object out without tearing the toilet apart?.... Hanger wont work. I tried. ( I think I might need stitches) lol

Recently my roommate and I have been waking up to find that the air conditioner won't turn on. And its because sometimes it blows (not sure if thats the right word) a fuse. All we have to do is push the breaker switch back to on and it would work. But today it happened and even though the breaker says its on, our apartment's fan won't turn on. When I switch on the A/C, the unit outside doesn't turn on but the fan unit in the apartment makes a noise for just a minute or so. I tried turning on the heat and the furnace kicks up but it never blows out the vents. Either way I can't even get the fan to blow so I don't think its the A/C unit. Any ideas? Its hot and its too late to call maintenance. Is there a reset button or something?

I had a little super glue tube placed in my jewelry drawer and it had a hole in it! So now two of my earrings (they're big and thick) have super glue on them...

Is there anyway I can get it off with something like nail polish remover or anything?
I'd really appreciate it!! I want to wear my earrings...

I'm looking to find the name and maker of a good quality galvanized elastomeric coating that will bond with rusty metal and be able to cover over and fill holes that have rusted into the metal.
I would like to find one that carries a warranty.

I have moved to an older home in the last month and a water softener system is installed in the house. It is an Aquafine Model # NA-20 and I was trying to find operation instructions on it's operation and wasn't able to. Does anyone know how this unit works and how to set the controls or where I can go to to get instructions on how to use it.

Thanks Paul.
