I have two outdoor electrical outlets and three in bathrooms that have become inoperable. Checked the electricity at the main panel, no circuit breakers are tripped and electricity is going out of each one. I have no GFI outlets in or outside the home, all regular outlets. Could one of these regular outlets have become defective and now causing the rest of the outlets on this circuit to become inoperable as well?

While replacing our carpet we found (3) 10 foot long cracks in our concrete slab foundation. The house is 2 years old and the builder says this is normal. Cracks are 1/8 inch but one is about 1/4 inch wide.

In a house that I'm buying (both from scratch) and I wanted to know what I should purchase (other than the appliances themselves)? We're going to get a contractor friend to do it, but I guess what I'm asking is if there are there bundled wires or connections that I should plan on buying at the same as the the appliances, or do they typically come with those?

I've broken a ceramic toothbrush holder (cup with holes on top for toothbrushes) and an oblong piece about 4" by 2" has been flushed down the toilet.

The toilet now flushes slowly and plunging it is very hard to do, only clearing the clog for a small while.

I live in the bottom flat of a rental house with clogs being my fault.

Hello,

I want to start a driveway cleaning service to supplement my income. I was wondering if anyone could tell me all the necessary supplies in order to effectively clean driveways, including mildew, mold, oil, tiremarks, and other dirt. Thanks a bunch!

ive bought some new metal light switches which will be flush with the wall, however the decrease in space between the plate and box in the wall leaves a little gap which obviously is not safe.
I think you can square piece of plastic which sits between the wall/ box and the plate for the light switch but not sure what is is called and where i can get them from.

Its always the same beep pattern, 4 beeps, but it only does it sometimes. They come through computer speakers, alarm clock, and baby monitor. Also, the computer screen surges sometimes when it happens. I think it may be some electrical interference. Is this something to be concerned about?

My landlord consistently doesn't follow through on repairing things in my apartment. I've currently got two sinks with broken faucets, a broken dryer, and a deck built of rotten wood that's about to fall down (my neighbor actually fell through her deck and all he did was patch the hole). In the past he's neglected to fix the heat in my apartment for two days and failed to pay the water bill until the water was finally shut off. Is there anything I can do legally or am I responsible for fixing these things? Thanks!

Hello,

I just installed a bunch of CFTs, but a few of them are blinking rapidly. Why is this? Can it be avoided? Are they just cheap bulbs?

Thanks,
Graham

I have a very nice Mobile but it is older, a 1973 actually. Since its been so hot here about 106* or Higher I have had to use my air conditioner. I have it on 84 because it I figured it would be lower on my bill and it also feels really good. Well the problem is that even at 84* the air conditioner is still running all day and my bills are 170-200.00 every month. I don't understand, Does anyone know what the problem could be, I turn it off at night & when it DOES click off at 84 if I turn it down to 82 then it won't even go that low unless its a cooler day outside. Could it be the insulation in the house or the windows leaking ? If anyone has any ideas what I could do to reduce my bills or if something might be wrong with the air conditioner it would be appreciated. Thanks !!

Another thing, I just bought the house LAST October & just realized she has tin foil in some of the vents...does anyone know what that is for ...?

If an extension cord is plugged into a surge protector then into the wall, and it is less than 6 ft long, is that still considered a fire hazard? Also, how exactly can the fire be started? Both the surge protector and the cord are grounded.
