I am buying a house with two full baths and one half bath. the master bath comes with jacuzzi jet.

The town water is yellowish, with sediment, and rust in the hot summer month.

How much does it cost to get licensed plumber to out in a whole house sediment filter for the water supply ?

the vent in my bathroom ceiling continually has condensation on it to the point that it drips....i know this is an issue of temperature...(i live in florida so my a/c runs a lot)....i only have a small vent window above the shower and no fan in there.....now i am noticing mildew around the vent....how can i prevent the condensation?....it is the only vent in the house that does this and it is not the master bath....i am concerned with additional issues occuring with the a/c system such as mildew in the ducts and this circulating through the entire house...can this potentially be a problem for me?

Really stupid question here but necessary so you don't need to slam me OK ? I can't get my wall funace pilot light lit and the guy who installed it is coming. It is summer here but our mornings now are very very cool, unusual so I turn on the oven and open the door. Is that really expensive ? I only do it for like 1/2 hour ? I have called him and have also tried to light the pilot myself and could always do the onld one, but this one I don't understand and I am not about to blow myself up. I do not have any man to ask OK ? nor anyone else. just you folks thanks Please don't tell me to go stick my head in the oven and close it :)

I just had my front door replaced with frame and the frame needs paint. The side panel are somekind of architectural foam or synthetic material. The installer said don't use an oil base paint. Can anyone elaborate on this? Does this sound correct?

If lightning hits your power lines would it cause all your circuit breakers to flip off or could it just cause one of them to flip off?

There were a lot of storms and lightning real close to our house and one of the circuit breakers turned off during the night and cannot be reset. The first time I reset it, it stayed in the on position for several seconds and then switched off. Now it switches back off immediately and sparks right behind the switch.

Any ideas what the problem could be? Does this sound like storm damage or something else?

This toilet has been plugged up for 3 days. Will it break down by itself in the water, or is there something I can put in the toilet to dissolve it? Or will some other process work?

My uncle just bought a new cordless screwdriver, and he gave me his old one. The reason he got the new one is because the old one, the 3 prongs that grip the bit 2 of them are broken. Will I be able to take this to sears and get it replaced or get parts to fix it? Its several years old, but don't all Craftsman products have a lifetime warranty? or even if they won't replace it where can i get parts to fix it?

It's been a gradual problem, but our washing machine will fill with water, rinse, empty the water; but after pulling clothes out, we'll notice soapy residue (or some small patches of bubbles... never more than 1 or 2 patches) still on the side of the tub.

We do not over fill the machine; in fact, I've tested it with only a t-shirt on a low load setting and it still happened.

Any ideas?
I would like to get the machine to run clean again.

(We purchased our home a few months ago and before that it sat vacant for a year. I am guessing the washer/dryer are from about 2001, since that's when the house was built.)

I have a Briggs & Stratton engine on an older MTD mower. It appears to be leaking a bit of gas inside the air filter housing, which is dripping out the bottom of the housing onto the deck.

It's not a huge amount, but about a drip a second or so. What could be causing this?

I drained the gas tank, cleaned the float bowl out, and put fresh gas in it. It seemed to help a little bit, but still pops every once in a while. And I put some Gas Line antifreeze (to take water out of gas) and it seemed to help a little more, but I still get the popping from the exhaust.

The previous owners of the house put in really cool blinds in the living room windows. However, they had to take the screens out of the windows in order to make the blinds fit! I love the blinds, but I want to be able to open my windows without having every creepy crawly inside the house! I'm so furious! Is there anything that I can do/use to keep the blinds, but to have some screens?

I took the air filter off and it seem to be getting plenty of fuel. If I let it sit for a few hours it will start and run fine for about 20min. Could it be a vapor lock ? If so how do I go about checking for it and how do I correct it ? What else should I check ?
