This toilet has been plugged up for 3 days. Will it break down by itself in the water, or is there something I can put in the toilet to dissolve it? Or will some other process work?

You are going to need a plumber and a snake...Kids will flush the craziest things.

The best way is to remove the bowl, flip it and try to push it out. Be aware as Eric said, water is involved and it can get messy if you rush it.
If you have a dry vac 2 gallons is plenty, use it to remove the water in the bowl. Make sure you vac the tank if it can't be flushed.
Now, if you have time and patience you can use a small flexible mirror to look into the trap of the bowl. If you can see it, you might be able to stab at it or chunk a piece off. The object here it to remove it by snagging or pass it by chipping off pieces. Be careful, it is very possible to crack or break the porcelain bowl. Pick one.... labor or luck?

It is caught in the stool itself. Before pulling the stool, I would try using a stiff packing puller. If you don't know, this is like a cork screw on a flexible cable. Push it down in the stool until you feel it hit the cucumber. Then twist the puller and it will screw into the cucumber and you can usually (not always) pull it out. If not, then I would pull the stool, like others have said here.

Sounds to me like a call to the plumber would help. It won't break down on it's own, at least I'm pretty sure it won't. You'll have to take the toilet apart to get it out.

It sounds like you need to remove it and push it out from the exit point turn the water off and remove the line from the tank remove the two bolts at the base and the toilet can be lifted up . you may want to take it outside to flip upside down because of the water that will be in the tank .once fliped I hope you see it and push it back you may need to replace the wax ring at the floor .Good Luck!!!!

go to a hardware store and buy a Chair cane,
[an auger type snake] it has a curve that allows you to put it into the trap before you run the auger, [hand cranking ]
it has a corkscrew on the end and will screw it,s self into the cucumber, so you can pull it out, or tear it up to allow it to pass,

if you're handy enough you can try augering the stool with a toilet snake or remove the toilet from the floor to push it back the other way

otherwise its time for a plumber unless you want to wait for it to dissolve nauturally

flush some dill and vinegar down there with it so it will make it smaller, it will turn into a pickle then you should be able to flush it .. might take a little while though.
