Hire a plumbing engineer to find the source of the leak.

I had the same situation in my house, and it turned out to be leaks in the pipes that evaporated before coming through the walls.

It created a terrible mold problem, and rotted through the flooring/ceiling joists with the water vapor.

My situation went on 5 years before I was able to confirm it.

Good luck!

Most likely you have plastic waste pipes either ABS or PVC. Both transmit the sound of water flowing through them very well.

If a toilet or sink drips a few drops of water a minute into the waste pipe you will hear it. A lot depends on where the builder ran the pipes or how far the water falls.

Either way if it is that annoying you should demand that it be fixed especially if you have some sort of home warranty.

My husband....a union carpenter for years....said to call a plumber and have him locate the leak. Once he finds and fixes the leak, call the builder, and have the builder reimburse for all repairs...which will be behind the wall....he will have to pay for all work....dry wall etc....first place to look is shower drain or base...... My hubby said it could drip like this for years before any damage is seen.....and then you will have a huge mess.....Have the plumber locate the leak, he will do this for you...Make sure you get paper work to show the builder....

He's probably right that it's pipes, but they may be inside the wall and leaking. Find a place where it's the loudest and have a plumber take a look at it. He can cut a hole in the wall to see if it is leaking inside the wall. If it is, it can ruin the whole wall and cause mildew that will make you sick. You will have to patch the wall and repaint it after he finishes.

I don't think that is really normal. I'd get a second opinion because you'll have to go back to the builder for the repairs. If water is dripping it will end up ruining something even if you can't see it.

if you here water dripping after running the water then there is probably water dripping

chances are a drain line is leaking if it only "drips" after you run the water
depending on how long you run the water, the "drips" probably haven't soaked through the drywall yet to show a spot
