Hello,

I just installed a bunch of CFTs, but a few of them are blinking rapidly. Why is this? Can it be avoided? Are they just cheap bulbs?

Thanks,
Graham

Make sure they are in tight.

I had one come loose and start blinking once. I tightened it up, and it is still working fine, and it's been a year! :)

Check that the lamps are in good, spin them in the little tombstone if you can and make sure both ends are installed check it twice its easy to miss. If it continues it could be a bad ballast. Try installing a different bulb thats known to be good and see if it flickers that will give you your answer.

The power stack in side the unit is bad and needs to be replaced. The second is the starter could be bad.

Wiring, bulbs, transformers. If new fixtures, check wires first and call an electrition to check them for you.
