I have moved to an older home in the last month and a water softener system is installed in the house. It is an Aquafine Model # NA-20 and I was trying to find operation instructions on it's operation and wasn't able to. Does anyone know how this unit works and how to set the controls or where I can go to to get instructions on how to use it.

Thanks Paul.

Do you know how many grain unit it is? In order to find the right settings for you and your family I need to know how many people live in the house, how hard your water is and if you have any rust in the water. The water softener should be sized to the house, 4 bed rooms should be set for 5 people.
The gallons used for a softener is found by taking the number of people in the house X 75 gallons per day ( 5 people X 75 = 375 gallons of water per day ).
If you know how hard your water is multiply the gallons X the hardness ( 375 gallons X 25 grain hard water = 9375 grain per day ).
If you have a 40,000 grain unit you can set it to generate every four days. (round up 9375 grains per day to 10000 and divide the total grains in the unit 40000 / 10000 = 4 days )

With out seeing it I can't say for sure but it most likely has a standard fleck valve on your unit you will need to change the pin settings on the left hand dial. If you look at it you will see pins that are out in others that are in count the spaces between the pins ( some are normally in other are normally out ) you will see the pattern. adjust as needed.
This is for a unit that is set at the right salt settings. a new unit will also need the salt setting changed but, we don't need to get into that.
