I looked at the ingredients of my liquid solar cover that I put in my pool and it only said isopropyl alcohol. So I was wondering if anyone knows if I can just pour isopropyl alcohol in my pool to use as a cheaper liquid solar cover. Thank you for your time and feel free to respond even if you haven't tried it.

I am installing a 5000 watt home generator. Instructions say to ground it to a copper grounding stake. The stakes I have found at building suppliers are 10 feet long. Is this length necessary? If so, how do you prevent the stake from bending when you drive it into the ground?

Due to an old roomates German Shepard, and his propensity to scratch, urinate and deficate on my deck, I have to pressure wash it before resealing it, and I also need to pressure wash the patio beneath it. This gives me an excuse to buy a pressure washer. I know nothing about these things so... What is the best model under $300 that will take care of buisness?

Will steel constructions stakes (used to supoort 2x4 forms) harm the concrete if left inside the pour area? Even if driven below the top of the form? I cannot place them outside because the forms are too close to another surface.

Hi!

I'm changing my floor from carpet to wood flooring.

Can my old carpet underlay be used for wood flooring too?
(The underlay is still in good condition)

Thanks in advance!

Ed

I posted a question about a how-to on painting a wall previously, and for cleaning the wall before painting, a coulpe of people suggested "tsp". I've never heard of tsp, if you could explain what it is (I heard you can get it in a hardware store, though). I've also heard that some people might used soap and water, but wouldn't that ruin the wall? I thought it was bad to put water on wall surfaces. Also, what would you used to clean them? Sponge? Cloth? Others? Thanks. : )

I have a shed with electric and I'd like to put an alarm out on it. I heard of someone making one out of an air horn before. Does anybody know how to do this?

I bought a campbell hausfeld last year. it was a 26 gallon, and i think 5.5 HP. But the thing truly sucked. It would take it 15 minutes to fill up, and then as you were using it, sometimes it would take upwards to 25 mins to fill up again, even if it was just idle. I had it rebuilt under warranty, same thing happens when i got it back, so I pawned the sucker, i don't want any part of it.

Now I am in the market for another. Are all oil free compressors crap? I want something that will last me for years to come, and it seems that with no oil, parts will wear fast. I can't spend more than 300, so what do yall recommend? Thanks.

the water was not draining out, until we poured baking soda and vinegar into it. How do I fix the disposal so that when I run water the waste is disposed of, instead of it reappearing in my sink basin like an unwelcome guest? Thanks.
