Water flow from the over head tank to our bathroom geyzer in the first floor is not fine. Sometimes it just stops or it comes like a trickle. I have checked the pipes and the connection is all fine. I believe there might be some pressure and vaccum related issue here which is preventing the water from the geyzer from flowing through the tap. Any advice or checks on these lines will be appreciated.

I am thinking about putting in a patio and wondering what concrete costs if I have a truck deliver it as compared to buying bags and renting a mixer. Probably 20 feet by 20 feet by 6 inches deep (200 cubic feet or 23 cubic yards)

Scared the tar out of me! I used a stud detector, and had already drilled two other holes at same height on wall. Anyways, at 1.5" in, sparks flew out and my drill bit had actually melted a little when I pulled it out (immediately of course). Electricity didnt go out anywhere as far as I can tell. The wall was sheetrock, on the other side was an exterior wall (block construction) What might I have hit?

The lavatories would be "back to back". I would like to use the existing drain and vent (both 1 1/2" copper...code requires no plastic). I think I need to convert the existing sanitary tee to a double wye (UPC does not allow double sanitary tee unless..)...but I cannot find one. Is there another way to do this or does someone know where to get one? I am located in the SF bay area.

after reading up on laminate flooring, it seems that getting them wet will ruin them. However, how wet is wet? if i leave a window open and it rains, will that ruin the floors, What about spilling a glass full of water? are they ok in the kitchen where frequent small spillages occur? Sounds like they are only really ok for the bedrooms?

Let's assume that you have a forest and you want to build something, and you don't have any equipment other than hand power tools, a chainsaw and an ATV. You need about 200 pieces of straight wood that are about 4-6 inches thick to build your structure. Here are your choices: 1) You can either cut down a 24" tree, find some way to drag it out of the woods, and have it milled or try to mill it yourself; or 2) you can cut down 200 4-6" trees, buck them up and use those instead. Let's also assume that you have a barn where you can air dry the wood and in each of these cases you are using the same species.

It seems like option number two would be easier. Not only because it's no problem to handle that size of tree with hand tools, but also it only takes 5 years to grow them. Whereas, in option number 1 you have to wait another 50 - 70 years to grow trees that size.

So the question is why do people only use older trees to get lumber? Is there some structural difference?

I am insulating a single thickness outer wooden wall using polystyrene foam and then covering the inside with plasterboard. Do I need a vapour barrier and if so does it go on the wood side of the insulation or the plasterboard side?
UK so wet and damp sometimes and cold.

Just installed the ceiling light today...installed the same way as the old one, but my light switch in the hallway no longer turns off the ceiling light. Any suggestions? The ceiling lights turn off when I turn on the lighting from my fuse box, but I can't turn it off without shutting off all the lighting in the area via the fuse box.

I currently have 9 items on one 15 amp circuit.

On one 15 amp wire (one 15 amp circuit) there are the following 9 items:

1) Back Door outside Light (one bulb, 75 watt)

2) Light fixture above Washer and Dryer (two 75 watt bulbs)

3) Light in Garage (one 100 watt bulb)

4) Lights for automatic Garage Door Opener (two 60 watt bulbs)

5) Automatic Garage Door Opener (unknown wattage)

6) Two outlets in the garage (sometimes used, for example, to vacuum car)

7) Garage roof Attic Fan (unknown wattage)

8) Two light fixtures on the outside of the garage door (one on either side) (two 60 watt bulbs)

9) One outdoor motion light fixture with two 100 watt bulbs.

Here is my question. There are currently 9 items shown above. I want to add another item so the future total will be 10 items. This is what I want to add : I want to add ANOTHER outdoor automatic motion light with two 100 watt bulbs. Will I be overloading this 15 amp circuit?
Thank you.

I'm wanting to construct a large see through water tank. The shape has to be exact, so I guess I've got to cast it. Thick plexiglass is what I had in mind, but that seems to be to complicated for my garage. What is the best process/materials to make it? (approx. 8ft diameter by 5ft. tall)
