We have a tri-level townhouse with an open stairwell. We heat with gas. I'm looking for something to document this to skeptical housemates.

I'm knitting a scarf using the stockinette stitch and it's curling..badly! i heard that doing a seed sttch (where you knit the purls and purl the knits?) around the edge will help lay it flat...is this true? and if so, how in the world do i do that!? Thanks in advance!

I only used the top oven but I noticed that the lower oven's light is on. There is no switch for the lower's light. I believe there is a sensor when the door opens the light turns on but the door is closed.

we have removed a radiator in the bathroom and capped it off - can this break the central heating circuit and therefore stop the central heating working? if the 2 capped pipes are then reconnected, will the central heating work again? its an older style system and i'm not sure if the circuit needs to be complete for the central heating to work

My whole back yard is concrete which I am trying to remove. I used a sledge hammer but found it very slow plus being 6 inches thick not easy. Would an electric Jack hammer do the job? Thinking of buying like a Dewalt for around $600 but wanted advice befor buying. Was quoted $3000 from a demo company so felt I could do it myself over time.

My dad has a garage about 100 ft. from our house, I can see it from my window upstairs. I want to add on to it to have a small kitchen, restroom, living/bed room. The garage is about 30 x 20 ft. There is about 40 ft next to the garage where I can add on. Any ideas?

It has some stains that I'm really tired of looking at. They've probably been burned in. The texture is messed up in places, too.

I'm thinking some kind of paint process. Cheap. Doesn't have to look perfect, just has to look better than it does. Can't afford to replace them, don't want to spend hours cutting new pieces of laminate to fit perfectly only to find out it doesn't, etc.

Any suggestions?

I just stained a piece of furniture, and a small part of it is MDF, and while you can't see much of that, it says it can be stained.

I used this product on the rest of the softwood spruce:

http://minwax.com/products/woodprep/prestain.cfm

And then I stained it with this:

http://minwax.com/products/woodstain/woodfinish.cfm

Now I'm wondering, should I put on pre-stain conditioner for the MDF as well or skip that and just stain.....? What sort of process should I take in this?

(1)...most people, seem to ask questions with incomplete information, little or no details, are provided?

(2)...most people, tend not to give location, location, location?

(3)...the spell checker, doesn't automatically kick out, questions that need correction? It doesn't seem to correct at all here in the detail section...

I could go on, for some unknown reason, I enjoy Q & A's. I think ,a good question, deserves the best answer possible. An answer of quality, in order to be considered, deserves a concise question.
