I've just got hold of a sheet of plywood I need for a project. It's been outdoors for a few days and is a bit damp. If I dry it off would it be ok to use? Will it be just as strong?

it's a real tug-of-war opening and closing my drapes. i was wondering if there was some type of lubricant that could do the job with becoming a dust catcher....which in turn would bing me back to my original problem

Hi, I'm hoping I could get some pointers on how to replace my main panel at home. I have a 100 amp breaker panel and want to bump it up to 200. I am very competent in the electrical field however, I have never done a panel change out. I do plan on getting permits and the electrical company to shut power, however I don't know what it physically consists of or what to look out for. Thanks for all your help!

The bolts that hold my tank to the toilet are way rusted. But the black gasket that seals the old flush valve to the tank is shot. I have a new flush valve. They're cheap. But I can't get the old one with the shot gasket out. It screws but I can't get enough leverage to unscrew it, considering that it has that big old black nasty shot gasket holding it tight to that hole in the center bottom of the tank..

I even tried that tool you use to unjam a garbage disposal and even that doesn't give me enough leverage.

With increases in the prime rate, lending companies are adjusting the rates on variable rate mortgages. Many people are starting to default, which gluts the market for a while which drives prices down. I don't think there can be any doubt that Washington popped the "bubble" intentionally, what was the reason for it (not the excuse).

How difficult was it?
Was it worth what you paid for it?
would you do it again?
Are you happy with it?
What would you change now?

We are seriously considering putting up a cabin / retirement home and love the look and feel. Trying to get some feedback.

Thanks in advance!

I am going to be a ghost for Halloween & I thought of adding the effect of some fog coming from my dress or hat. Does anyone know how I can get this look without strapping a fog machine to myself. :) Thanks in advance!

I noticed they didnt send me screws, so what kind of screw should i purchase from the hardware store. The old ones look like they were a little over 1/2 inch long and required a phillips screwdriver. I bought some calk and a caulk gun for a window pane, so should I caulk around the frame before I stick the storm window up or does it matter. I have no clue what I am doing!

We want to paint our kitchen walls (Drywall) but they have been wallpapered previously. We have taken off the wallpaper to find walls with a lot of defects (holes, craters, imperfections). If we just paint it now, every imperfection will show up.

Someone told us to "skim coat" the walls with joint compound so as to make the walls smooth again.

Can anyone tell us how to do this? Will we need one or two coats of joint compound? Can a beginner do this? I can't find a plaster guy to do it since it is a small job.
