my machine's foot pedal isn't triggering a response. if i wiggle my foot it will eventually make a connection but it starts and stops suddenly. sewing is next to impossible and i'm having withdrawal symptoms. can someone point me to an on-line DIY repair site so i DON'T have to take it in to a shop where they will charge more for repairs than the machine is worth?

The air-pockets can be peeled and the paint along with the old paint underneath comes right off exposing the sheetrock. When I pull back the paint, it's so thick (1mm) that it feels like leather. Now I have to repaint. What should I do to ensure no more peeling occurs???

What I want to know is ways to attract buyers. One way I heard was to bury a St. Christopher statue upside down in the yard. Run your own ad. I thought other successful sellers might have ideas. Like yellow flowers etc.

I accidentally flushed the wooden peg that goes through the toilet paper roll to attach it to the holder. It is a wooden peg about 5 inches long with a spring in the middle to allow the peg to compress to 3-4 inches. Now the toilet is draining slowly, and then the bowl re-fills only a very small amount. I have tried plunging and snaking the toilet but it has no effect. I'd like to avoid calling a plumber if at all possible. Any advice that you could offer as to how to fix the problem would be much appreciated. Step-by-step instructions, would be the most helpful. Thanks!

I would like to put together a pageant for my church. I would like to have male and female entries. How do I put it together? What criteria should I have as well as what rules and so on? There will be a short essay writing portion, question and answer, evening wear, and other catagories. How do I create entry forms and all. Any suggestions would reallly be helpful. I would like to keep it tasteful.

The path to our front door isn't very well placed and everyone just walks across our lawn, and we are wearing a path. I have the idea of embedding either stone or concrete pavers in the lawn, spaced so the grass still grows between them, to minimize damage to the lawn. I am planing to dig a hole in lawn in the shape of the paver (slightly deeper than the paver is tall), fill it with about an inch of compacted sand, and fit the paver in the hole. (I live in a warm, relatively dry climate, so frost isn't an issue). Is there anything wrong with this plan?

We didn't read the complete directions on the stain we used, and therefore did not wipe up the excess stain as we applied it. So now, 24 hours later the stain is still very tacky and doesn't seem close to drying. What's the best course of action? We'd prefer to not wait a week for it to completely dry as we use that room quite a bit under normal circumstatnces.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

What is the proper way to build a children's sandbox so that:
1) it has drainage so that it doesn't turn into a small swimming pool when it rains; and
2) so that weeds don't grow up through the sand
