I bought a pack of Tapcon screws that came with a Masonry drill bit so i could use to drill holes in the side of my brick house. The problem is i noticed that on the first drill hole it soon melted the tip and ultimately made a very large unexpected hole opening mess. What happened? Was i suppose to be drenchiung the hole (and the drill bit) with water as i was drilling? Should i have gotten a masonry bit that was coated in titanium or something? I just cant drill holes in my brick.

I already finished a piece of furniture with a gold base coat of spray paint and a top crackling coat in green. It looks great in some areas and there is no crackle in others. Is there some way I can make those areas crackle up?? I tried wiping the areas really hard with a cloth and taking a blow dryer to them...Help!

I am renovating my shower. I have taken the existing shower walls and floor out and am down to the studs. I am close to putting up the cement board in preparation for tile. I don't know if I need to install a vapor barrier before the cement board.

I'm looking for a temp living situation in GR, MI,,, near 28th and Division, Eastern ave,,,, or Wyoming. Want a bargain, and can work toward rent,,, or even sale, by repairing, painting, etc.

It could be as brief a time as 2 weeks, 3 months, or longer.

I'll also consider any additional work situations.

I didn't want to replace ALL the tiles in my bathroom, just need to add about 10 close to the kickboard of my new vanity.

Do I need a primer? How well will the paint wear? It is in a guest bathroom, not heavily walked on.

I had asked about Neutral and "Noise", I'm o.k with capacity. So back to the question: When & Why would you double your neutral on a 120VAC, 240VAC or 480VAC device. Anybody got "real" experience with this question for understanding.

I want to replace a floor approx. 200 sq. ft. The current floor is wood over lino with a few pieces of plywood in between. The wood is fit in not nailed down. What is most economical, dyi friendly, and durable for an entry way/kitchen/living space all in one...wood, tile (stone, ceramic) or a "Prego" like product?
I'm looking for the approx. cost for that size space, including supplies....and if I can do it in a day all the better. I have some skills but not a pro. Thanks.
