I drilled some holes on a fiberglass panel, the fiber shavings got on my arms and now i'm itchy. Other products like plastic and wood didn't do this to me, why does fiberglass make you itch like crazy?

A fiberglass/FRP panel is close to 40% (genuine) glass fibers; that's why it's called "fiberglass," the other 60% is polyester resin.
Fiberglass 'shavings' have dust that gets into the pores of your skin, which causes you 'itchiness.'
Soak in a hot bath and after you've been in the hot water long enough for your pores to 'open' a bit, scrub your affected skin with one of those stiff bath brushes.

It's primarily made of silica fibers that are only a couple of molecules thick. It gets right into your skin and as soon as you scratch it drives those fibers in deeper and thus the more you scratch, the more you itch. Try this; Do Not scratch!!!! When done working with fiberglass, rinse your arms with COLD water and DO NOT scrub or rub. This will reduce the itching greatly but not completely. Best bet is to wear a long sleeve shirt that you can throw away when done.

The fiberglass fibers are like tiny tiny slivers of glass. They wedge into the crevices in your skin and gouge in, irritating your nerve endings.
