I agree with using cabinets and an easy way to make your seating area... but as you don't have lowe's in wisconsin, you would probably have to go to Menards or Fleet Farm for your cabinets. You could also check at rummage sales for nice old steamer trunks, then add a cushion to the top for comfort depending on the height of your window.
However, building the frame with the 2x4's and drywall would be the least expensive and gives you room to be creative as well.

You only need to frame the area that you want to make the seating/storage under the bay window. Use 2x2's or 2x4's for the rough frame, then you can use drywall to enclose it. It's easy, just take your time and measure twice and cut once. Good luck

It amuses me how much people complain about the Shiv Sena and RSS in the face of murders and bombs going off by Muslim militants. I think there needs to be some serious retaliation to show them that this should no longer happen.

This may or may not work for your particular situation, but I used pre-manufactured cabinets to create a nice, simple window seat.
