The lavatories would be "back to back". I would like to use the existing drain and vent (both 1 1/2" copper...code requires no plastic). I think I need to convert the existing sanitary tee to a double wye (UPC does not allow double sanitary tee unless..)...but I cannot find one. Is there another way to do this or does someone know where to get one? I am located in the SF bay area.

Hi,

I found a site on the Internet where dwv fittings can be ordered.

http://www.plumbingfittingsdirect.com

You did not mention the diameter of the sanitary drain or if it is
cast or copper. Below is a 1 1/2 inch double "Y" copper fitting .
But I don't think that is what you are looking for.

Do you need the sanitary drain ( 4") to have two 1 1/2 in coming of it? I see something like that on the site but I think it has two 2" coming off it. That is no problem, you can reduce it down to 1 1/2 ".

I am pretty sure you can find what you need on this site and they say if you need something you don't see listed that they can get what you need.

If you need, you can e-mail me for further discussion.

Good luck

If you aren't going to get this inspected, use Schedule 40 PVC. It's easier to cut and glue and they always have all the right parts. You will also have to plan for water lines and the 1 1/2" drain is too small for two lavs. You can vent the two with one vent though. Good Luck
