I have a shed with electric and I'd like to put an alarm out on it. I heard of someone making one out of an air horn before. Does anybody know how to do this?

it would be easier to use a regular car horn and a battery hooked up to the windows and doors, with contact switches you can buy at any electical supply or radio shack

How old is your Shogun? Dixie horns are illegal on anything first used on or after 1st August 1973. It has to be a horn producing a "constant note". Technically I'd guess you might get away with it if you still have the normal horn in use and the airhorns are operated off a separate switch, AND you don't use 'em on the highway. In fact, I know you can, we had a rally control vehicle fitted with "police" type sirens, run from a separate switch, and we removed the fuse on the road between stages to avoid mistakes. However, I'd guess your wiring isn't passing enough current - do you have the wiring diagram that came with them originally? The compressor requires a fairly considerable current to operate sucessfully.

For an air horn you need some type of compressor. Now they make an audible device that is EAR-PIERCING and is readily available from radio shack or any alarm company. I used an old house alarm unit and wired it in with window and door contacts all puchased at radio shack
