I can't afford to have someone professionally get the scratches and stains out of my blond hardwood floors. Is there a machine or a cleaning or staining product(s) I can use to make them look nicer?

I have a bedroom door that has a key lock on it. It's been on there since I bought the house and never got a key for it. My daughter locked it and closed the door, now I can't get in. It appears to be a Kwikset lock. Can I break the handle and open the door and how could I do this? Or is there some other way? I need to replace it anyway to keep this from happening again, so breaking it wouldn't be a big deal.

I'm rehabing a row home in Philadelphia and I would really hate to makes in the walls to pocket the joist so I thought I could hang them but I dont know how to post the ledger on the brick wall. I figure I should use bolts - but what kind of bolts. Also the bolts should have some sort of glue to them. But what kind of glue? Any Engineers out there want to try to answer this one. There has to be a way of doing it.

I am renovating a recently purchased 1930s apartment. The ceiling is very nicely decorated across the face of the old plasterboard (the plasterboard is the old type with hessian fibre running through the middle of it) and has cool cornices too.

There are now many little divots (about 1cm cirle) in lines where i imagine the josits run. I think the sanding of the ceiling has encouraged the plaster boards to drop down a bit, and where the fastener is pulling through the boards the divot is created in the paintwork over the fastener.

Is this common, is my ceiling going to fall in, what do I do about it?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I have an outdoor kitchen, with a sink, but I have no plumbing outside. All I have is the kitchen countertop with a grill, and a sink with no plumbing. Do they make bladders that I could put under the the countertop directly underneath the sink? I suppose I could just place a few pipes from there to the sink.

I am going to pour my own patio, kennel, and sidwalk; and I was wondering if I am going to have to pay more for a concrete truck if it's not a full load.
