I am going to pour my own patio, kennel, and sidwalk; and I was wondering if I am going to have to pay more for a concrete truck if it's not a full load.

They charge by the yard. I'm a mixer driver. If you only buy 5 yards, then you pay for the 5 yards. Mixers ususally hold 10 yards.

I own a readymix company and a rear load truck will hold 10 yards a front load truck will hold up to 13 yards but in most states your 13 yards will exceed the weight limit.

I used to know this I did the same thing and sure enough was short concrete. Damn it I swore I'd never forget this too. I guess 10 yards but you better call. lol.
