The large hole side is the neutral side, so the white wires connect there. The small hole side is the "hot" side so the black wires connect there. Then twist all of the bare wires together into one large tight bundle and hook the longest one up to the green screw, which is the "ground". Nothing could be simpler. Oh, and if you see a lot of sparks flying around while you are attempting this, go and shut the power off before continuing.

Make sure the power is off, if your not sure what breaker it is, turn them all off, if you cant do this call an electrician. Then connect the black(or any colored wires) to the brass colored screws, white(s) to the silver screws, and green/bare to the green screw, if there is no green or bare wire, you should put a screw in one of the holes in the back of the box with a short piece of wire and connect it to the green screw.

YES , AND YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF....THERE ARE TWO WHITE WIRES...TWO BLACK WIRES AND PROBABLY ONE GREEN THAT WILL BE ON THE NEW RECEPTACLE....WHAT YOU WANT TO DO IS TAKE THE TWO WHITE WIRES ONE FROM THE RECEPTACLE AND ONE FROM THE HOUSE...CUT BACK A SMALL PORTION OF THE COVERING OVER THE WIRES...TWIST THOSE TWO TOGETHER....TAKE A SCREW CAP AND SCREW THAT OVER THE WIRES....ARE YOU STILL WITH ME? GOOD CUZ NOW YOU ARE GOING TO THE SAME THING WITH THE TWO BLACKS WIRES....YOU'RE ALMOST THERE NOW...NOW IF THERE IS A GREEN WIRE YOU WANT TO SCREW IT ON THE SOMETHING THAT IS METAL WHERE YOU ARE WORKING.....THAT'S ALL THERE IS TO IT........OH YA,PLEASE BEFORE YOU START THIS PROJECT........SHUT THE ELECTRIC OFF....IF NOT YOU WILL GET A JOLT THAT WILL KICK YOU ON YOUR ***..........
