Use some of the temporary window shades, one brand is Quick Shade. You can purchase them at Walmart, KMart and other department stores. They actually have a peel and stick strip to hang them from. They are around $6.00 each and can be easily cut to fit the width of the bookcase. The ones I have used are 36" wide and 72" long. They are not tres chic, but they serve the purpose. You could purchase doors at a home improvement center and finish them yourself, but you would have to spend a lot more money. Best of luck to you!

try that sticky backed velcro and apply one side to the shelf and one side to the plastic, but that adhesive is very hard to remove when you don't want it anymore.
You could also try some tension curtain rods w/ a plastic shower curtain, either w/shower curtain rings or enlarge the precut holes. That way you won't mar the shelves and the plastic would be easy to maneuver.
