Due to an old roomates German Shepard, and his propensity to scratch, urinate and deficate on my deck, I have to pressure wash it before resealing it, and I also need to pressure wash the patio beneath it. This gives me an excuse to buy a pressure washer. I know nothing about these things so... What is the best model under $300 that will take care of buisness?

Karcher 2400 PSI, Honda gas powered, from Costco, $299. Sorry, it seems that this model is no longer made. A co-worker recommended this model and I've been extremely satisfied. The electric models are not much better than a good high pressure hose nozzle. The closest I can find is Karcher 2500 PSI Pressure Washer w/ Honda Engine $399.99

Best Pressure Washer Under $300

I just bought a 1300psi electric pressure washer at my local Harbor Freight store. Reg $139.00 on special for $89.00.

Works great for me. Using it to clean mud off atvs, wash car tires, clean driveway.

Stick with an electric and you should be able to find several models under 300. Gas powered will give you higher psi, but you don't need that (or want that) to clean a deck.

I purchased one on EBay for about 75 dollars and its wonderful, especially since I use it for home use, not commercial. For what you describe, anything less than 100 dollars (1500 psi) is going to work, you need to focus on a cleaning product (scrub first) then powerwash off. Use TSP to scrub area then powerwash.

Avoid purchasing a gas powered unit as you'll find it's far too powerful and a PITA to have around the house.

Good Luck.

I have had numerous pressure washers and they don't last. If they do anytime, then it breaks....you can't get parts. RENT one!
