Kay.. I'm getting a new bed pretty soon. I have a 10x11 room, and a Queen sized bed. Yeah, It's a small room. So I was thinking of getting a twin bed.
I want to be able to store things under the new bed..
Like, a small chest, Boxes, and what not..
And I can't do that with a standard bed that's less thana foot off the ground. v_v

Are there any type of Raised Beds out there?
Like.. 3 feet or higher off the ground?
Links, brands, and prices are greatly appreciated.

Thanks! <3

We need light fittings, rugs, dining table and many other things to go into our new modern home. Where is the best place, town or area that we could find modern home interior designs?

that they work. One is a wet method of cleaning rugs, and the other is the direct opposite, a completely dry method. I know that one is totally better than the other, but I can't recall which. Any thoughts?

I bought a yankee candle brand reed diffuser. I've heard they are supposed to work well, but mine isn't even noticable in my tiny bedroom. How can I get it to work better and make the scent stronger?

It's pink on one side, and white on the other. My Nana is telling me that when I put it up, the roll must face towards the room - she 'knows this for a fact'.

But surely this isn't true for a black-out blind? If the roll faces inwards, I'm either going to end up with the majority white and a pink 'roll' (I bought pink to match my room, not to show the neighbours), or I'm going to have to roll it the other way (it came rolled up so all you can see is pink), and the majority will be pink, and the roll will be white. This will also look silly, won't it?

She's saying that if I do it the 'wrong' way (so that the roll is closest to the window, and therefore not visible) that it 'might' look okay, but she's not too sure. I'm definitely having it this 'wrong' way, but what are your opinions? How would you put it up?

Thanks in advance! =)

Can anyone tell me about planning permission and using drawings?

I am interested in either a single story side or rear or both elevation. Not sure exactly what or how i want it. I did get an architect out to give a quote for drawings and sorting the planning permission out. But he never gave any ideas of how the space could be used...He quoted £1000 and was pretty useless really. It has put me off getting another architect. Is there anyway i can do the drawing myself and add maybe photos to the planning application? Do the drawings have to be technical/cad or can they be drawings with just real measurements??

thanks

Am I crazy? What are your opinions?

I plan on hanging our lights on Nov. 11th but I won't turn them on until after Thanksgiving. Will this look tacky? It gets really cold here and I'm afraid it will be too cold to hang them after Thanksgiving.
What do you think?

I was looking through a magazine of kitchen designs and noticed a hard wood ceiling look instead of hardwood floors. I thought it was a very rustic, new england-eque look for a kitchen. My kitchen is getting re-modeled and the plans are not yet finalized. What do you think about this look?

Okay well I have these Ikea couch and loveseat but they are different colors, you can take off the slip covers and wash them.
So I wondered if I could dye them to be the same color?

one is like sand color the other is a little bit darker like wet sand.

Id want to dye them dark brown, how could i get them the same color?

My husband and I just built a large five bedroom/four bathroom house on the outskirts of Boston. This is our first house together after living in a condominium-complex in downtown Boston. I am just clueless with what to do for colors of rooms, appliances, furniture, etc! Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Also, I am pregnant with a baby due in early April, so any tips for a nursery? Thanks!

I've just moved house and am in the process of redecorating the kitchen. I need to put in a splashback behind the sink and behind the hob. Because of the granite colour of the worktop I think natural stone tiles are going to look best but I'm not sure how suitable they are as a splashback as they're porous aren't they? Do they need special treatment to clean/care for them if I do put them in? Any other tips/advice?! I did ask at my local DIY store and they didn't have a clue...

Is it like a huge decorating no-no to put a small rug on top of an already carpeted floor? I have grayish beige carpeting in my bedroom with black furniture & i really like this black rug and I'm wondering if it's a bad move to put a rug (albeit a small one) on top of a floor that's already carpeted? (Please only respond if you have something pertinent to say. Don't reply just to call me a moron or say "I don't know". Please. Thanks).
