No one will notice unless you actually turn them on.
Of course, if you intend to put a fleet of reindeer on your roof pulling Santa on a Harley, a barnyard full of wire mesh critters in your front yard with a multi-story, inflated snow-globe, ya might wanna hold off a bit.
Oh yeah. . . & here's something else you need to consider:

Well, some people still have their Halloween decorations up, so it might look a little odd with, say, a Santa Clause statue standing outside of your house, a Count Dracula statue in front of the house across the street from you, and a Turkey statue on the neighbors lawn down the block. However, there are plenty of people who start to put up Christmas decorations right after Halloween where I live, so I don't think it'll be too tacky at all. If you want, though, wait until the day after Thanksgiving if it makes you feel better. In my opinion, do what you want, it's your house. Everyone decorates at a different time. I've seen a few houses who have lights up already, or maybe they never took theirs down, lol. If you want to put lights up, go for it. =)

Hang them when you want, but make sure you don't turn them on until after Thanksgiving. In my opinion this is still way too early. Why is it that we insist on celebrating Christmas for more that one out of twelve days of the year?

It's all your judgement, really.
Stores have had their decorations up for at least a week now.
If you hang them now, you might have neighbors and passersby commenting to themselves- as some doesn't like to even consider Christmas until after Thanksgiving- but I think it'll probably go unnotived enough that you'll be fine. =)

If they're going to be off until after Thanksgiving, then of course not. I agree, it will be too cold, it's fine to hang them now.

i know some people that have them hung up all year but only turn them on after the second week after the first snow it makes it a lot easier when you have a lot of lights it is also saffer than waiting for it to snow and then it being to slippery to hang them or just flat out to cold

No it is not too early to hang Christmas lights. Think of all the retail stores who have seasonal merchandise out way before its time......Christmas in July sales at that!

Well it's free country and if you have the spirit and love the holiday and want to then you can keep the all year long. It's your choice; not like the neighbors will attack your or anything plus the way i see how people are losing their spirit and will to decorate (at least around my house) I think it's fine.

I saw my first, lit, Christmas display tonight... no, apparently it's not too early. And if you don't turn them on, no one is going to notice them... unless you put one of those tacky reindeer and santa on the roof.
