I'm getting my dining room painted and the guy is charging $100 to fix a bad drywall job and $125.00 to paint the room. This does not include supplies. He says he will buy them and they should run between $70-$90. Should I buy the paint myself ? Also do you guys think the price is fine?

Hi,
I had ceramic tiles installed in my living room and I wanted to get wood flooring and decided to go with laminate as it can be installed on top of ceramic directly.
My ceramic tile floor was not flat and there were few spots where one tile was bit high then surrounding ones.
Now, I have had 7mm thick laminate installed and when you walk, you will clearly feel some spots going up & down. you will also feel different sound in such spots and even other person watching your foot can figure out.

Is this normal? Could installed have installed it with some more padding or with something else to avoid this issue?
Is there any solution now?
I was thing about removing tiles but what if underneath floor is not flat. I don't have basement and I believe I have concrete floor.
Any comments/suggestion or same experience?
Thanks,
Sam

I'm planning on starting with 25 foot lengths of lights (larger bulbs) and cutting/splicing them into custom strands that will fit the eves of my house exactly. I've seen this on other homes, but I want to make sure I am doing it safely/correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sean

My daughter will soon be ten years old. She has a very cute bedspread that is pink and light green with pink accessories (even her little t.v. is pink!) The problem is the size of her room! It is sooo small! We can only put her bed one direction without the closet door hitting it! We can't really change many things around because there is just not much space - and there is a floor vent we can't exactly cover up. She is extremely bored with her room and I don't really blame her but I don't know how to revamp it. I don't have a clue. I painted the walls with an ivory base and big pink cirlces and she loves that but it doesn't really help much with the space issue. Next to building her a loft bed (which I am no carpenter) I don't know what to do! Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated. We are just too cramped for comfort ... Please help

Any tips on how to make the most of a small space? I am tired of feeling like I am living in my bedroom closet. Thanks.

I am painting the baseboards and trim and I removed the quarter rounds to paint them separately and I want to reinstall them afterwards Problem is, once removed, the quarter rounds have nails in them sticking out that I need to remove, but I've been trying hard to pull them out, and they just won't budge. I tried clipping them off with a pair of clippers/snips and managed to get them almost flush with the wood (within 1/16 of an inch). Is this the right way to go about doing this or is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance!

how far away from a neighobours fence line can you build a house wall, no windows in bottom but one in upperstory, when built it will block out the light from the next doors kitchen window as there window is only 3 foot from the new wall.

We recently had carpet in our bathroom (which I hated!) When we removed it to put down vinyl tile. Some of the floor is wet, like where my shower and toilet is. Should we put down a sub floor or just let it dry first (or will it ever dry)???

I have just a plain round globe in all of my rooms except for the living area (it has a ceiling fan) and I want to change them, I need a really nice wall fixture. You can post links if you like.
