how far away from a neighobours fence line can you build a house wall, no windows in bottom but one in upperstory,when built it will block out the light from the next doors kitchen window as there window is only 3 foot from the new wall.

It is 1 meter from the boundary line. As for the light being blocked there are specific regulations on this. If your neighbours house has an extension and it is the kitchen then there objections can be challenged as to why the extension was built so close to the boundary line . If the building is listed then the light is classed as ' Ancient light' which means you properly wont get planning permission. You have to also consider will the build be in keeping with surrounding area and consider if the area is a conservation area. You are better off contacting your local planning department. You should speak to your neighbours Good Luck

It would be a planning issue rather than a building regulation. I would think your neighbours would object, and your planning application refused.

normally in the uk its a metre ..thats 3 foot 3 inches
