Rent a steamer from a hardware store. Messy and hot, but without question the easiest and most efficient way to get that crap off!

I've found two effective ways to remove wallpaper and its glue. Working from top to bottom gets the best results. Wallpaper removal is not tough. Time and preparation will contribute greatly to your success. Prepare any wall to be stripped by first laying out plastic sheeting, newspaper, tarps, old sheets or drop cloths. You'll be glad you did!

If you know there are multiple applications of wallpaper on your surface, use Method 2.

Method 1 -- Peel back a top edge of the wallpaper, begin spraying the wall with a 50//50 mixture of vinegar and water. The water will saturate the paper, the vinegar will release the glue. Scrape gently and consistently with a wide, flat putty knife. Move slowly over the area you intend to strip by spraying and scraping. After each section has been successfully stripped, Wipe the wall with a damp cloth.

Method 2 -- Peel back a top edge of the wallpaper. One layer or more if possible. If not, start with what you can get. Begin spraying the wall with water. Room temp water and cold water work, however, my preference is very warm or hot water. With a sharp corner of a flat, wide putty knife score through the wallpaper. Score carefully because you want to slice through some of the paper layers without scoring the wall or damaging the drywall/lathe and plaster surface to which the wallpaper is adhered. Score an area that is about length of your arm and as wide as your shoulders. Spray the desired area well from top to bottom. After a few minutes, use the same wide, flat putty knife to scrape the damp, wet, or soggy paper from the surface. Finish by wiping the wall area with a damp cloth.

Good luck!

I went out and bought some stripper for that and we have a steamer. One day a few weeks ago, I pulled a piece of the old wall paper off the bathroom we are planning to fix up and it all came off without any problem at all. It all just peeled off gently. I can see there is now probably some glue left there, so this weekend I'll try to sand it off or soak it off.

Actally,I used hot water and a towel..it came off fine.Just get the hot water from your tub in bucket, soak the towel and wipe it damp on the old wallpaper. The glue was easy to scrape off with a 3"scraper....while still damp..
