We recently had carpet in our bathroom (which I hated!) When we removed it to put down vinyl tile. Some of the floor is wet, like where my shower and toilet is. Should we put down a sub floor or just let it dry first (or will it ever dry)???

You should check for any broken pipe to find out where the water is coming from. You didn't mention what is under the old carpet, plywood subfloor or concrete slab. If it's plywood subfloor and they're wet, then you need to replace them and not to let it dry out and put on the new vinyl, because the old subfloor will warp as it dried. And if it's concrete slab, you still should put on the subfloor using 1/4" thick underlayment before you put on the sheet vinyl. Have fun.

The last few times i remember doing vinyl tiles it was concrete below it so i just went over that. as far as i know you shouldn't need a sub floor if your going over concrete. however the wet spots should be dried first. i would be worried about mold and mildew building. if there are leaks they should be fixed as well.

Take out all the sub-floor, clean it real good, (the floor) then lay down another one.
Make sure the plywood or the cement board is laying flat, us quik-set to fill in any problem spots. Then, after screwing it down, fill in all the seams and then start over.Use a good promer to put down before you use the glur. We always used three coats of primer, then glue.

Always use a new sub floor.Roll a sub floor primer on the new wood and the tile will hold better.
