Shingles are sold by the square. A roofing square is 100 square feet. You have 400 square feet so 4 bundles. But this also depends on the overlap of the shingles. If you have severe weather you will want to have more overlap and will need more shingles. It will say on the shingle bag waht overlap to use to get 100sq ft from the bundle.

20 X 20 = 400 SQ.FT. 10 X 10= 100-SQ FT OR 4-SQUARE
3-BUNDLES TO A SQUARE X 4=12 & I-BUNDLE TO USE FOR STARTERS MAKES IT A TOTAL OF 13-BUNDLES TO COVER A 20 X 20 ROOF
