reed diffuser isn't really working?

I bought a yankee candle brand reed diffuser. I've heard they are supposed to work well, but mine isn't even noticable in my tiny bedroom. How can I get it to work better and make the scent stronger?

Make sure that you flip the reeds every two weeks. This will increase the smell. Reed diffusers seem to work well in small areas such as bathooms but to me are not very effective in a larger space.
