I am remodeling my basement.....well when I removed the wallpaper from the stairwell there is like 1/4 thick glue residue underneath. I tried sanding it and using vinager and hot water, nothing seems to take it off. I mean you can see a few spots of the original paint but not a whole lot. It's very think and course. Any ideas??? I heard to use DIF but will it work for this much glue????? I have never seen so much glue used before I guess the previous owners planned on having this wallpaper for life?! LOL

I'm trying to find one for my dorm room (maybe even one that hangs over the door). I've seen some at Walmart for about $6 a while back, but the Walmarts around here don't carry them for some reason.
Thanks!

There is a very thin thight weave carpet in a bedroom.,this carpet is sitting on old uneven floorboards. the carpet has leveled out the surface but we want to replace the carpt now.I have some laminate leftover from a job I did before and was wondering if this "thin weave carpet " would act as an underlay. I have gotten different opinions from different people. Laminate will be a cleaner option for this small room just curious as to what beople think ?

I am *really* annoyed when the bed sheets don't cover the box spring on a bed, and I don't have time to do a custom bed ruffle. We had to put a queen bed with box spring in our kids' room with no bed frame (for now) - but I know the sheets will look a little funny if the bed isn't high enough, and a bed ruffle might be too long. If I don't use one, I risk the comforter not being long enough and exposing the box spring.

Any ideas for my situation?

I purchased this chair in a garage sale for $40 intending on trying this out myself. It is a Parlor-style club chair with ball & claw feet and wood carved pieces along the front of the arms. As I began to remove some of the stitching, it became clear that I might have an expensive piece of furniture and it deserves professional work. The chair really has nothing wrong with it but a wobbly arm and the fabric is out-of-date but still clean. I also found straw-like fibrous material inside the arm which tipped me off that this chair might be older than 50 years. I would like to purchase the fabric myself being that I know how to find a bargain but would like to hire the work, is this possible? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Here is the link to a chair similar to mine but my chair has less detailing.
