I fostered small breeds for a rescue team, and could inform you what i've got discovered-poodles are great in case you like a lap canine that often should be close to you and play each and all the time, chihuahuas could be tense to housebreak and can be extra gentle than you're searching for, cavalier king charles spaniels and papillon are rather lively and have a delightful, basic going, playful thoughts-set yet do no longer do nicely while left on my own for an prolonged time. a lot of human beings get excitement from pugs through fact they are exceptionally hardy and basic to stay with, yet some snore and wheeze. in case you like a breed slightly larger (20-30 lbs) that would nonetheless do nicely in an house, attempt a sheltie, min. or wide-unfold schnauzer, or cocker spaniel. Smaller breeds tend to bark extra in many circumstances, yet are extra possibly to be common by employing house administration.

A toilet plunger - we ended up moving into a place with horrible plumbing and had to make an emergency run to the hardware store as the toilet overflowed.
Pot holders or kitchen towels, too, are easily overlooked and you end up using a bath towel or shirt. Most things in the kitchen were things I forgot - heavy duty scissors, a bottle opener, a colander...things you just take for granted are *there*.

Bottle opener/can opener, hanging tools:(hammer, nails, screws, those sticky squares for posters, toolkit for putting things together with, etc.), those things by the bathroom sink that hold your toothbrush, I love those circle things that you can put anything heavy on, and tote it around easily.
Good luck!
