I am *really* annoyed when the bed sheets don't cover the box spring on a bed, and I don't have time to do a custom bed ruffle. We had to put a queen bed with box spring in our kids' room with no bed frame (for now) - but I know the sheets will look a little funny if the bed isn't high enough, and a bed ruffle might be too long. If I don't use one, I risk the comforter not being long enough and exposing the box spring.

Any ideas for my situation?

Get a bedspread instead of a comforter. My daughter has a full size bed, that is up high because of the frame, so I bought a queen size spread and it works great. You could do the opposite. If the queen bed sits on the floor, buy a full size bed spread. Bed spreads are so much easier to wash than a comforter.

you could use a fitted sheet on the box spring to cover it without it dragging on the floor.
