would best accent with the copper? there are also beams going across the ceiling. beams and walls are currently painted a very putrid pinkish-beige. baseboards, trim, and moldings are painted off-white. the room needs rejuvination, and now that ive cleaned the copper to its original glory, i want the walls to coordinate . some suggestions for colors ive received so far are: cinnamon, brick red, saffron, sage green, burnt sienna, mustard yellow. what do you think? has anyone decorated with copper ceilings?

...can I simply open the wall, drill holes in the 2x4's, attach recepticles to the 2x4's, and splice two wires off each of the wires of the fixture that's already there and install the new fixtures? Is it that simple? I've installed new lighting fixtures before and have just enough knowledge to make me dangerous!

My kitchen is a blank slate-- would appreciate suggestions for a cheerful color scheme. It has stainless steel appliances, dark wood cabinets, off white tiled countertops, and off-white porcelain tile floor. There is a sliding glass door and window over the sink. I do not want to wallpaper but will paint the walls, and I am open to a wall paper border. I am a single professional girl, 25, with a large dog. I do not want it to look like my mother lives here! Appreciate your ideas! And I will be doing the work myself.

My husband and I are buying our first home. WE are moving from a one bedroom to a 4 bedroom house. Thinking about decorating makes me get overwhelmed. I know that we're going to take our time with buying furniture but there seems to be a lot more involved. We decided to do concrete floors. We like bold rich colors on the walls. I just need to know where do I begin to start looking for room ideas? Any good websites? Websites on concrete flooring? Any suggestions from anyone? Let me know. PLEASE!!!

I'm remodeling our church and want to change it from just pews that face forward, but not exactly at the speaker. I'm thinking that the best angle is about 10-15 degrees. Am I right?

A couple years ago, I let my teenage daughter paint her walls with washable paint for kids -- the kind that let them write on the walls with washable crayon or markers.

Now my daughter has gone off to college and I'm cleaning off the walls. I'd like to repaint the room. Can I paint over the washable paint with regular flat latex? If so, is there any prep work I need to do such as wash down the walls with a TSP-like product?

Thanks!!

I am using the same high quality sealer I used on my travertine floors and walls. They are all well sealed. The bottle says it works on all natural stone including granite. Why won't these counters seal? They absorb water if they are splashed.
