I have read alot on color theory, and there are a couple of things to consider before painting the walls red. First of all, if it is an accent wall I am fairly positive you will be content with it. However if you are planning on painting the whole room red, you may want to reconcider. Some color theorist have linked the color red to anxiety and heart problems. It also tends to speed everything up...which is why many fastfood restaurants are red. If I were you, I would either only paint one accent wall in that color, or I would consider doing a wainscot in red and a neutral color on top. Hope this helps!

I would suggest that you only paint one wall red and the others a neutral color. Red can be very bold you may not like all of the walls that color. Maybe you could paint the one wall red and use accents of red in the room. But if you choose to paint it all red you can always paint over it if you don't like it. Good Luck

Yes. One room in our house was entirely red until recently. Then I painted 3 of the walls khaki and left one red.
It did make the room somewhat dark when it was all red. But it was a very deep red and looked nice. I liked it enough that I left one red wall when redecorating.

I don't have any red walls (I live in an apartment) but I would love to because I think that they would look great. If you paint them red and don't like it you can always paint them another color.

My sons room was painted red for a couple of years. He had a lot of light maple book shelves and furniture to break up the color. It seems to make the room darker and feel smaller. It wasn't tranquil but still beautiful. I ended up repainting it when I remodeled and now his room seems boring but more peaceful. I do love the red. Maybe use it for a dining room or living room or even a kitchen instead since you don't need it to be relaxing.

Red is gorgeous but if you are uncertain ...why not paint just one wall first...it is a bear to change later..it shows thru most other colors..
